Find the Crane Court Docket

Start any Crane court docket search with one question: did the matter become a Martin County case, or does it sit with the town? No separate Crane town court shows in the current official listings. So a Crane court docket for criminal, civil, family, probate, infraction, or traffic work points to the county trial court through the statewide portals. The circuit clerk confirms the official file, certified copies, and hearing location. For municipal questions, Crane town government is the direct route. And when a Crane court docket search comes up empty, custody, timing, transfer, age, or access limits may explain it. A record can still exist.

Crane’s Official Town Route

For town business, start with the official Town of Crane site. The county directory lists the town clerk at 181 Larrimer Street, Crane, Indiana 47522, reachable by phone at (812) 854-7866 or by email at clerk@townofcrane.org. That office handles municipal matters, not the Martin County court docket. For court records, the Martin County Clerk remains the correct address, and the town contact details should never be substituted for it. The town page tells you what Crane itself publishes.

Crane court docket and official Town of Crane contact route

An official town web presence does not prove there is an active Crane town court. Nor does it promise that any ordinance matter is available online.

If your question is about a local ordinance, ask Crane three things. Does the town keep the record itself? Was any hearing held at the county level instead? Was a citation forwarded to Martin Circuit Court?

Include a citation or ordinance number and the date if you have them. Keep private details out of an email channel you have not confirmed.

The Crane Municipal Court

State court and Odyssey sources list no separate active Crane municipal or town court. The trial court that shows up for Martin County public case search is Martin Circuit Court 1. Its identifier is 51C01. Crane is an incorporated town with a town clerk. That status alone creates no judicial docket.

So the search splits in two. A criminal, civil, family, probate, infraction, or traffic matter filed with the court sits under Martin Circuit Court in MyCase. A town meeting record or ordinance file may sit with Crane itself. When you cannot tell which office holds the paper, contact both. Ask whether a judicial case number was ever assigned.

Town government is not a separate court: Search 51C01 first for filed cases, then ask Crane about town-held ordinance material.

Crane Town Records Missing Online

A Crane ticket or town ordinance can be missing from MyCase for simple reasons. It may have stayed municipal or never been converted. It might have carried a different identifier, moved to another court, or been sealed. An empty result does not mean no record exists. So gather the details first. Note the office that issued it, the date and location, the ticket or ordinance number, and any court named on the notice.

One phone call settles where the file sits. Call Crane at (812) 854-7866. Ask whether the town still holds the record or has passed it along. If it turned into a court case, call the Martin County Clerk at (812) 247-3651. The counter sits at 129 Main Street, Shoals. Mail goes to PO Box 120, Shoals, IN 47581. Hours run weekdays, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

When you write, ask for the nonconfidential CCS and any public documents named in the case. Say whether you want plain or certified copies. Confirm the $1 per-page copy price, the $3 certification fee, postage, and how payment is accepted. Do all of this before you mail any funds.

Crane Court Dates and Settings

For a Martin County hearing tied to Crane coming up soon, CourtCal is the tool. Pick Martin County, add Martin Circuit Court if you wish, and set a date. A name or case number will narrow the results. The window only reaches back seven days and forward four weeks. Treat it as a calendar, not an archive.

Date The published Crane-related setting date within the calendar window.
Time Start and end data when the court supplies it.
Court Martin Circuit Court, not a presumed Crane municipal court.
Judicial Officer The officer listed for that setting, when available.
Setting Type The event description, which may not be a trial or final hearing.

Check the calendar row against the newest MyCase CCS entry before you rely on it. A continuance, cancellation, or reset can shift the date after the calendar posts. CourtCal does not list a separate room. Call Martin Circuit Court at (812) 247-3652, or the Clerk, to confirm the room and current status before you drive over.

Crane Settings Use County Calendar

A county calendar does not label anything a Crane town docket. A case that began in Crane simply shows up on the Martin County list. The court field will read Martin Circuit Court. To match a row to your matter, use the case caption, the Crane case number, the hearing description, the date, time, and the judicial officer assigned. Crane itself may surface only in the underlying facts or an address. Do not copy that detail from a public screen.

Setting
A scheduled court event, not a guarantee that the case ends that day.
Reset
A new date or scheduling change, not a dismissal.
CCS
The Chronological Case Summary, which records case events over time.
Disposition
The recorded outcome of a charge, claim, or case.

Need a Crane hearing on today's docket? Look at CourtCal first, then check MyCase, then phone the court. Administrative Rule 9 requires calendar access, but that duty does not mean Martin County must post a Crane PDF or a town docket online.

Crane Traffic Tickets

Got a ticket near Crane? Start with Indiana ePay, where an eligible citation can be pulled up by UTT number, license number, or name plus date of birth. What you get back is practical: ticket date, agency, court, case number, offense, balance, and whether you can pay online. Just remember ePay handles payments. It is not a full Crane court docket.

For the case itself, use MyCase. CourtCal will show the hearing. If your citation never shows up, double-check the number and call the Martin County Clerk. The Clerk lays out three ways to pay: at the counter, by mail, or online. Want to fight the ticket or ask for a hearing? Follow the instructions on the citation and from the court. Pretrial-deferral questions belong with the Prosecutor at (812) 247-3500.

Crane Traffic Questions Split Three Ways

Which office you call depends on the question. A Crane town ordinance source may carry a case number starting with Crane. Filed Crane court cases and certified Crane dispositions go to the Martin County Clerk. Online payment eligibility is an ePay matter. Each office does its own job. None of the three can stand in for another.

Question First Route Fallback
Was this a town ordinance record? Town of Crane Martin Clerk if it became a case
What does the court CCS show? MyCase Martin Clerk official file
Can this ticket be paid online? ePay Martin Clerk
When and where is the hearing? CourtCal and citation Court or Clerk confirmation

Which office you need depends on the question. A Crane town ordinance source starts with Crane itself. A filed Crane court case and any certified Crane disposition belong to the Martin County Clerk. Payment eligibility online belongs to ePay. Each of the three handles one job. None substitutes for another.

Where Crane Cases End Up

When a Crane matter turns into a county case, criminal, civil, family, probate, small claims, infraction, ordinance, or traffic, it lands in Martin Circuit Court 1. Crane town files raise a separate custody question until the Town or the Clerk confirms a transfer. State appellate and federal records live in other systems entirely.

Docket flow: Crane town contact › Martin County Clerk › Martin Circuit Court 1

This flow is about custody. It is not a promise that every Crane town record turns into a court case. Search the county portal only when a judicial filing looks likely. For the wider structure, the Martin County court docket maps the court hierarchy. Crane municipal questions stay with the town.

Crane and the Old 51H01

51H01 was the code for Martin/Loogootee City Court, and Administrative Rule 8 abolished it. The code never mentioned Crane by name. Even so, an older county ticket or ordinance file may carry it if the case moved within the Martin County system. Under Indiana's 2026 abolished-court protocol, a receiving court can give the file a fresh identifier.

Don't try to squeeze that old number into the current 51C01 format. Search the court docket with the original citation and party details first. Then ask the Clerk if a new case number was assigned. Also note that temporary CCS retention rules for some infractions and ordinances differ from the permanent record categories.

Note: Preserve both old and new identifiers when the Clerk confirms a transferred Crane-related matter.

Public Access to Crane Court Records

Crane-related judicial files at Martin Circuit Court fall under the Indiana Rules on Access to Court Records. The rules presume public access, within their limits and other law. Rule 5 shields confidential records and data. Rule 9 offers a formal way to restrict access. A public case header can sit beside nonpublic attachments in the same court record.

Crane access boundary: Ask for nonconfidential public CCS entries and documents. Juvenile, adoption, mental-health, medical, treatment, victim, and protected-address material may be restricted or redacted.

For online access, use MyCase. The Clerk counter or mail serves the official file and certification. For a transcript, contact the court or reporter. Any Crane record that never became a judicial file goes through the town channel. If access is denied, ask in writing. Request the rule or statute behind that decision from the custodian.

Crane’s Three-Place Context

The official 2020 Census incorporated-place table puts Crane at 166 people, behind Loogootee and Shoals. Crane is one of just three incorporated Martin County places in that source. Treat the figure as dated population context. It is not a count of Crane cases, nor proof of a separate town docket.

166

Crane's small size makes precise routing matter more, not less. Population ranking tells you nothing about court structure. Official listings, not headcounts, establish the active court.

Crane County Search Failure Plan

A failed Crane court docket search has fixes. First, strip punctuation or hyphens from a known Crane case number, as the official MyCase tips allow. Confirm you are searching Martin Circuit Court 1. Switch from a broad name search to a citation or case number. Check the filing-date and status filters too. Results are capped, so narrow any common name.

  • Check whether the matter is a town record rather than a filed case.
  • Ask whether an older identifier was replaced after transfer.
  • Consider whether the record predates electronic conversion.
  • Recognize that a confidential, sealed, or expunged matter may not appear.
  • Request the official public record directly from the proper custodian.

Crane publishes no municipal-court page, ordinance docket, or separate public-record request form. That gap does not prove no paper route exists. It is simply a reason to contact Crane and the Clerk.
